First Draft of ‘A Crows Scream’ Completed.

Getting him ready for the big day…

Great news! Yesterday, I finally completed the first draft of A Crow’s Scream (working title).

So, it is done - the Wendlelow Mysteries are complete. They tell the tale of that troubled little Shropshire town, from its founding to its ultimate destiny many years later, as well as the lives of the people who dwell there and, of course, the horrific things that walk its narrow lanes once darkness falls.

So, what now? I think I need to let the book ferment nicely over the Christmas period before returning to it with fresh eyes in the New Year, to begin the process of editing and making it fit for human consumtion. When this is done, it will be off to my wonderful editor, Carson Buckingham, without whose keen eye and diligent work the book would be nothing more than spooky gobbledygook.

When she has finished her editing, this newly polished crow will wing its way home to me, where I shall complete the final editing process, get out the Brasso, and give the thing one last shine. Then, I must seek out some poor, willing victims to read and review the book before it is finally released.

How long will this take? It’s hard to say, but I would hope to release the book in June or July 2026.

Until then, I shall continue my spooky blogging. And for those of you who have not yet dared to tread Wendlelow’s shadowy streets, now is the perfect time to start. Visit my shop for links to Fireside Horror and Threads of Shadow. I promise that this little town will linger in a reader’s mind long after the book has been set aside.
